Tooth Extraction Lesson

Growing up i always went with my dad to all doctors appointments. The hospital had this terrible smell, i feared the white walls, seeing the nurses, the worst part was getting injections. I am glad that my dad would explain to the doctor how i am feeling and help me get settled in the room. Incase of any injections my dad would hold me and tell don't worry its ok.
I have three boys and my husband has always been there to give me support and encourage me in the delivery room all the three times i delivered.
Its been snowing heavily in Berrien Springs and i have been indoors since Saturday evening. I have been having a terrible toothache and i was given an appointment for for February 1st, 2019. My husband stayed home with the kids and i drove myself to the appointment.
For some reason i didn't give a thought of what i was going to experience. I loosened my heavy winter gear and checked in. The lady ushered me in to the room and asked a few questions which i answered. For some reason i wasn't even thinking what was going to happen. I sat on the recliner chair and put my legs up, wow! As a mother to three active boys between ages 8 and 16 months this is what i have been longing for. Putting my legs up with no disturbance, in front of me was a huge window which allowed me to see the beautiful snow 🌨 outside. All i could remember is my favorite verse Isaiah 1:18"Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
The doctor walked in and introduced himself to me. He told me to open my mout so that he could numb my mouth. Hell broke loose...... I couldn't keep my hands down. The first thought that came to mind, where's dad to help me keep my hands down. I was shaking, nervous but i couldn't cry..
The doctor left the room and all i could do was talk to myself, hey i am big girl a woman, mother with three kids. I should not be nervous after all.. Seriously where did time go, i am alone dad is miles and miles away and i just have to do this, no shaking, no moving, i have to open my mouth and get all the injections. Who came up with this idea of injecting the mouth seriously!!!!!
The doctor came back and i told him i am ready. I whispered a prayer and told God. Lord i trust you just the way i trust my daddy. I know you are bigger and mighty than even my dad. Dad is far away but i know you are in heaven and also you are right here with me. Help go through this. Amen
I am now home in bed resting  thinking of how God helped me go through the procedure without lifting my hand, moving, shaking nothing.
Psalms 46:1 reminds me that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
